A winch is rated for straight line pulling, and the rule we work to is a winch rated at one and a half times the gross vehicle weight, because mud, gradient and a bogged vehicle all multiply the load. Every package here is sized to the vehicle rather than to the box, with a bumper tested to carry the winch, the correct cable or synthetic rope, and the wiring and isolator to run it safely. The new Defender is a monocoque on air or coil springs with electronic everything, and nearly every module on it wants programming after it is fitted.

Fitting
