A modest lift gives clearance for larger tyres and better approach and departure angles. Too much lift, or a lift without the matching parts, gives worse handling, worn joints and propshaft vibration. Our kits are the height we would run ourselves, with the parts that height actually needs, and we say plainly what changes on the road. The Discovery 1 shares its chassis design and drivetrain with the Defender and the Range Rover Classic, and it rusts in the same places.

Fitting

Labour guide: about 6 hours. Land Rover changes specification mid production, often by VIN rather than by model year, so send the VIN or the registration with the order and we confirm the part against the build data before anything leaves. Any modification that changes ride height, tyre size, weight or appearance must be declared to your insurer before you drive the vehicle. Raised vehicles need the headlamp aim reset and a four wheel alignment, and the MOT tester will look at both.

Which version to buy

Standard is the standard specification, which is what most vehicles need and what we would quote unless you told us otherwise. Heavy Duty is the heavy duty specification for expedition, towing and commercial use, rated beyond the factory figures.
