Range Rover L405 Transfer Box Motor
Add the last seven characters of your VIN in the order notes and we check the part against your vehicle before dispatch.
Transfer Box Motor for the Range Rover L405: the range change motor, which fails far more often than the box it sits on.
Sensors and modules for the vehicles with electronics, which is everything from the Discovery 3 onwards and a good deal before. ABS sensors, height sensors and the transfer box motor account for a large share of warning lights. Many modules need programming after fitting, and every listing says whether yours does. The L405 is aluminium bodied with four corner air suspension and adaptive dampers, and its parts are dearer than the earlier cars for good reasons.

Fitting
Labour guide: about 2 hours. Land Rover changes specification mid production, often by VIN rather than by model year, so send the VIN or the registration with the order and we confirm the part against the build data before anything leaves. It takes two minutes and it is the difference between a part that fits and a return. We are an independent Land Rover specialist and parts supplier. We are not Land Rover or Jaguar Land Rover and are not appointed by them; the model names are their trademarks and are used here to describe fitment. Everything we sell is chosen for vehicles that actually get used: towed with, loaded, driven through water and parked in fields, rather than for the brochure.
Which version to buy
OE Supplier is made by the firm that supplies the factory, in its own box rather than a dealer box. Same part, same line, typically 30 to 40 per cent cheaper than the dealer. Genuine Boxed is in the manufacturer's own packaging with the manufacturer's number on it. Worth it for warranty work, lease returns or a car with full dealer history, and not otherwise. Premium Aftermarket is a well regarded aftermarket maker that is not the original supplier. Generally good, and we say where the differences are.
