The Defender and Discovery front axle turns on swivel balls running in oil or grease, and the chrome on the ball pits and tears the seal. The symptoms are oil down the inside of the wheel and a failed MOT. Hub bearings and steering joints wear faster on a vehicle with larger tyres, and we size parts for that. The Discovery 2 is the Td5 era, with self levelling rear air on some cars and ACE active roll control on others, and both matter when you order suspension.
