A winch is rated for straight line pulling, and the rule we work to is a winch rated at one and a half times the gross vehicle weight, because mud, gradient and a bogged vehicle all multiply the load. Every package here is sized to the vehicle rather than to the box, with a bumper tested to carry the winch, the correct cable or synthetic rope, and the wiring and isolator to run it safely. The Discovery 1 shares its chassis design and drivetrain with the Defender and the Range Rover Classic, and it rusts in the same places.

Fitting

Labour guide: about 6 hours. Raised vehicles need the headlamp aim reset and a four wheel alignment, and the MOT tester will look at both.
